The flasher doesn't, or shouldn't, need to be grounded. These lites not working or too dim to be seen seems to be a fairly common problem.

So did it end up working correctly with the electronic flasher or a thermal ? I think it was the electronic, but...

I think the electrons from our monsters are too dirty for some of these new fangled thingys.

I'm assuming yours is 12v.

This p/n 84787 solid state positive ground flasher from LEDLights.com solves most issues discussed. It is a three terminal can with an external flying lead that has to be grounded out to your A.

Many, or all, the electronic flashers do have an ground wire. I was talking about a thermal flasher.

I think I have 3 electronic flashers that claim they are supposed to work, they don't. So I just use rear LEDs with high candlepower incandescents in the front with an old preferably NOS 535 flasher. New chinese made thermals are junk.

There are now new 6v positive grd electronic flasher that supposedly work, but, I haven't needed try any.
