There was a Simmons head in good condition at the Luray swap meet. Not sure what it sold for, but definitely nothing close to this (even accounting for the Winfield).

Thumbs up Re: Simmons head

I've got some Simmons intakes, carbs & a head. What I like about them is they are from the same era of when the Model-A was a new car. Not 1940's, 50's, etc. As far as the Winfield carb, 'oh yeah, definitely era correct. Wish I could a ford one or two....

Curious it says "Licensed by Chrysler Motors" on the head.

Yep.....I bought that Simmons head, intake and carburetor in Luray. No where near the price that they are asking for this one. The head I bought is painted green and the intake is painted black. This corresponds to the Model A colors. I wonder if Simmons originally used the same color scheme as the Model A or is this one the original Simmons colors. The head and intake pictured in the Ford Garage pictures appear to be in primer.

That’s cool, I was walking by when you bought it. I remember you asking if he had some cardboard. Looked like a good find.

Ah, I wrote that before the guy selling the Simmons head slashed the price. Used to be $3750, I see he's taken $1000 off.

If it’s on sale, we’d better stock up. [emoji13]
