EOA, that's English Ford Consul, Zephyr Six and Zodiac, the mk1 variety.
Certainly look like them. Early ones, the later had a sticky up part on the chrome surround that housed a reflector.
Edit, I think these English Ford's were sold through the Lincoln Mercury dealerships, if I recall correctly.

Martin.

For those that are not real familiar with these British cars, they were quite popular in Australia. The Consul was powered by a 4 cylinder engine, while the Zephyr was powered by a 6 cylinder engine. The Consul rode on a shorter wheelbase. These pictures show an early Consul with the small Tail Lights, while the Zephyr is an updated model with the Reflectors in the top part of the Tail Lights. Both models are Mk I examples. The updated models received the added chrome side trim. I have included close-up views of the early and late Tail Lights for comparison. The Bumper Guards were also changed on the updated models. Both the Consul and Zephyr came with the same Tail Lights.

Scooter, A gentle massage to the hoods, the addition of a couple grill spinners, along with '51 Ford tail lights and fins would turn some heads!

Recognised it straight away as MK1 "Z car" / consul tail light. These cars were popular down here in NZ and as they got older were the number one car for "Bodgies" (sort of like Hoods in the USA) along the the V8s which the Mark 1 Zephyr suceeded. It was the English Ford Zephyr series that virtually spelt the "death knell" for production of US sourced Fords in New Zealand.

GB

PS These cars were Ford UKs response to the US "Shoebox" 49er cars and replaced the E71A Pilot. The Bigger tail lights on the Mark 1 Zephyr were used on the 55/56 if memory serves me correct.

Gb, 56 is mk2 consul, zephyr, zodiac. In my opinion a far prettier car, drives much nicer, and bleeding the brakes won't make want to torch the damn thing!

.

Yes Scood I stand corrected. I like the first 3 Zds but Mk1 is still my favourite, especially Zodiac which came here built up from the UK.

I have an original sales brochure for the Zephyr and Zodiac in mint condition they were beautifully produced. My late Grandfather was purchasing officer for the NZ Loan and Mercantile agency in the 50's. He got all sorts of car brochures and I ignorantly cut a lot of them up in sixties as a kid. I left all the Ford ones intact for some reason including the "five star" Anglia and Prefects and one of a Popular that folded out into a huge poster with a woman dressed in 50's clothing with the car in front of a thatched country cottage.....very England

When I was a kid I spent many hours helping my stepdad bleed the brakes on his Z-cars. Haven't had to do that with mine yet but I'm sure whichever one of my buddies will be less than thrilled with the idea when I ask. That'll probably require a bribe with some cold beer or some gin.

Everyone else gets my pictures. Sounds like you need a twelve-year-old kid to tune-up your computer, or a new computer that works normally.

Denny & Lawson.... C'mon guys! This is a 2015 thread. My original post NOW also has deleted the picture. All I show is the vague image of a camera with a line thru it, like happens when an ORIGINAL image is no longer saved on the internet, like Photobucket did when they dumped everyone's photos. But for currency, here's the light.

This vague image (BELOW) is what I show NOW!
