Default 47 coupe shocks

My 47 has front and rear tube type shocks. Would like to replace them. Any brand or numbers? Thanks.

I ended up with cheap Monroe matics, because I had KYB on it and it was too stiff. You really need to measure them and choose, all depends what brackets you have on it.

If I remember correctly, the shocks for my '48 were the same as an early '70's Chevy C10 pickup.

For my 47, I simply went to Auto Zone and asked for shocks for a 47 Ford. Simple. And, at the time, I was able to get old-style hydraulic shocks... not N2 filled. Factory brackets were already on the car.

Also try Napa auto parts and use the Napa brand shocks. I think post #3 by Als48 is correct. I used the shocks from the early 70's C-10 pickup on a '46 Ford coupe.

I'd look a little more. The C10 shocks may fit, but they are for a vehicle that weighs at least 50% more than a '47 Ford. If you like a stiff ride, they may be OK, but there may be better choices.

I used the Napa Brand and they worked just fine. No noticeable stiff ride.
