Default Tunes for my A

Let me start off by saying how much I enjoy this sight. That being said, my wife, being the tech gal that she is, me not so much, realized how much I missed not having music in my A, was nice enough to buy me a Bluetooth speaker, and down loaded my favorite tunes to my phone. Now I have the enjoyment of music in my A. No wires, no mess. Since it is my only vehicle, and my daily, put about 150 to 200 miles a week on it, it does make the enjoyment of driving just a little better. Not that I didn't enjoy listening to the familiar model A engine, it just adds to the experience.

I intend on doing the same for when I take it on long drives.

The A is a father-son project, so when its done, it will remain in my dads house until "it can no longer stay." After that I'll take possession of it and move it from PA to NJ.

I only get to work on it once a month or so, and so its driving will be limited even after its done. But I'm hoping to have it in a reliable enough state that I Can take it on a long road trip from PA to possibly Missouri to show my grandfather.

Music will be nice if i'm in it for more than an hour at a time!

That's not a bad idea for music in the car, like most old timer's I have music playing in my head when I drive, unfortunately I can't change the channel and it seems to be the same tune...over and over again.
May have to give it a try...once I figure what the hell a "bluetooth" is.

For the longer drives a little music goes along way. We have a Bluetune solo speaker. It is compact and rechargeable. Small enough to fit in a cup holder if you have one in the car. Does a great job. we wrote it up several years ago.

Having taken some time to edjamakate myself (not easy at my age) with Bluetooth and MP3 like so many of you already have and getting tired of carrying along a boombox, I now have tunes on a inconspicuous Bluetooth speaker and all my selected Blues and Jazz from the 20s and 30s loaded onto this here MP3 thingamajig..........I hope to take a tour this Sunday again with both MP3 and GoPro. I might just keep going and going and going...........

We used a bluetooth speaker on our last outback trip where we were driving for up to 8 hours a day. The tunes were recorded on the Ipad - the same one we used for emails and telephone calls out there. There are many places out there where there is no coverage of any sort so we approached each town with anticipation - "Has anybody tried to contact us while we were out of range?"
The only other "amusement" is the CB radio and the hum of vintage machinery. Music on its own!

Bringing this thread FWD to give everyone some on hands knowledge of Bluetooth speakers.

I have done some extensive research on many mini-bluetooth speakers, size, sound quality and loudness. Price too....I decided on a Oontz Angle, small and hideable but after a few times out, it just wasn't loud enough due to window down, engine noise and I being totally deaf in one ear and 1/3 deaf in the other didn't help either. So back to researching again, still had to be small, hideable and sound quality. When I say quality, most all songs and musical scores from the 20s/30s are rather flat and project their own very unique sound and I didn't want to mask that and still give the impression the music is coming from a radio somewhere inside.

Today I received what I feel is the best on the market for my needs, Charge 3 by JBL. All the product info can be read from any link that sells them. Cost a bit more than the Oontz but you get what you pay for and it's a bit bigger but still hideable and still get the full affect. What I like about this JBL, the sound is not all round sound which is perfect when you have to put it up against something on one side. I like the big controls at finger tip length. Loud!!!!! Very and with a great sound. Paired up perfect and fast....All the reviews are great also. Here is where it is..........

On the floor, against the seat base. Rolling fwd!!! no, it is velcroed to the seat base. The speaker side is facing up and all the controls are facing FWD, easy to reach. Sits between the driver and passenger, as did the Oontz Angle. The place where the Velcro is, stuck to the small base that it has when sitting it on a table.

Should be out of reach of any foot traffic unless you have a curtain climber sitting in the middle and bangs their feet against it.

Can't see it when looking into the windows..........

I have s somewhat different solution. I use Starkey "Halo" hearing aids which have built-in Bluetooth capability. Tunes and phone calls come direct to my hearing aids. No, the passenger can't hear, but she is likely asleep anyway. The same connectivity allows ne to adjust or turn off hearing aids with app on cell phone. That's why in some circles I am called the "High-tech Red-neck"
