Default runningboards-Acuff

Anyone know what happened to Hunley Acuff runningboards? I tried the web site several times, but it does not come up. I heard he retired. Does anyone else do that work?

I spoke with him this past Summer and he was talking about having his son take over. However, he made it pretty clear, he'd rather have his son follow a different "career path".
So, not certain what may have transpired since then.
Has anyone tried to call him?recently

I certainly hope this business keeps producing! his product is fantastic and I consider myself lucky to have found him and gotten a set.

Bob, I could not agree more. I had two sets done by him perhaps a year or so ago. They'll get used

X's 3... He reproduced two sets of 33 Chrysler Imperial running boards for me that are amazing in detail. A real asset to the hobby.

He did mine for the 39 Zephyr . Couldn't be more pleased plus as far as I know he was the only one that was doing them. I'm not to the point just yet of installing them but I sure am glad now that I went ahead and had them recovered.

No, he is not vulcanizing running boards. I'm not sure if he is still alive? David G or Michael Driskell will know the details.

He is still alive. Friend of mine has purchased all the running board moulds from him a few months ago.

Update. Friend just called me this afternoon and has loaded all the remaining running board moulds from Hunley Acuff and are now on the way to a shop in Heflin Alabama. He already had the Mercury and Lincoln Zephyr moulds. Not sure of a timeline as far as producing new boards.
