Default Wiring Help

Removed the fuel tank to fix the sending unit.
Went to reassemble and there are a couple wires I do not remember...

this pic is from behind the car. the tank is below the pic, and the wire to the sending unit is attached.

There are 2 male connectors, and one female that I can see. What are these wires?? the female end seems like it foes through the floor around the rear seat area? one male end is barely protruding from the harness, and the other has a few inches or wire.

What are the color codes of the wires, that should tell you.

The wire going up through the floor, especially if that wire is BLACK, likely goes to the trunk lid for the license plate light.

IF the two MALE connectors are on the SAME conductor, AND the conductor is BLACK, one of them will hook to that black trunk lid wire, and the other male would go to power the TAIL (running) lights. The TAILS and LICENSE lights are powered by the same, BLACK conductor originally. BRAKE lights were powered by a GREEN conductor. If the remaining MALE connector is on a YELLOW wire, that is for your tank's sending unit. Below is a '40 Diagram, compliments of Mac VanPelt. Does this help you? DD

Those spring clips look unique. Looks like some leafs have been removed from the rear spring.

Like Coop posted,

Yellow - Fuel Sender
Black - Tail Lights
Green - Brakes

The Deluxe shows the plate light added, Black, same as the tail lights.

The yellow is connected, the problem I’m seeing is 2 make connectors to one female,

The BLACK must go to the wire disappearing up through the floor. This schematic (more of a diagram than a true schematic) provided compliments of Mac VanPelt shows that the GREEN is the circuit for the BRAKE light filaments. DD

Awesome, thanks for the help, I dissembled the loom a bit and found the brake (green) female and that had pulled in.
