Default Parking Lights

Just did a complete wiring harness on my 30 CCPU, and now the parking lights stay on in the off position. There were no issues prior to the new harness, I did use the original switch. Any Thoughts, Thanks

Sounds like the center disk in your switch is clocked wrong.

when the switch is in the off position, the flat side of the disk faces the left,"drivers side" of the car.

Just checked the truck in the dark and what I thought was parking lights were dim headlights when I instalied the fuse no tail light. when I turn the headlights on with the switch the headlights come on bright along with the tail light. Will remove the switch and see if there is any issues.

Checked the problem today, disconnected the horn and lights went off reconnected the horn and everything was normal. Going to check again tomorrow not convinced that problem is resolved.

Sounds like you may be back feeding somewhere. Check all your grounds. Faulty ground make weird things happen as the current tries to find it's way back to the battery.

This tip might not help your problem if you want to stay original. I installed an aftermarket piece of junk switch assembly and ended up bypassing it with a toggle switch hidden under the dash. It works perfect all the time and I no longer worry when touring at night in the hinterlands.
