followed me home
Made the trip to Montana to purchase the Roadster pickup discussed in this thread last month http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=200774 . Got him home and cleaned it up a little, looks much better now. The body is in decent shape with nothing rusted through. A look in the gas tank was a little disheartening though with a lot of rust, hopefully no holes. Plan on removing the tank and trying to clean it out and turning this into a driver after getting it running. It came with a title and the engine does turn over, two steps in the right direction in my thinking. The tank date is 8-8-28.

Re: followed me home
I love it! Reminds me of my 29 RPU in 1960, my first car. I still have it, 56 years. . .

Re: followed me home
Is the strap holding the fender or the bed on? Looks like a fun project.

Re: followed me home
I took a tank like yours-dropped a garden hose in the top and flushed it for about 2 hours-amazing how much crud came out! then I taped a shop vac hose over the gas fill and "blew" dry the tank.
would guess that a full gallon of crap came out. installed pencil filter and gas filter and was on my way.....................! |

i hope the back end was full of money because you are going to need it if you plan to restore it. Wayne
