Default 36 Ford gas line fit at tank

Is the line as it connects to the tank a flared end or fitted with a ferrule?

36 Fordoor with original tank and new line. Drove the car to a show today, stopped to fill up along the way Took a peek underneath as it sat on the grass and the line at the tank was leaking like a sieve. Ran great otherwise. Came home, it sat a few hours and all of a sudden I no longer have 6V at the floor starter switch! I still have lights, horn and 6V in and out of the ignition drop down switch.

I'm not sure what is exactly correct, but mine is a steel 1\4" line with ferrule and male fitting.

Thanks Guys, will do tomorrow. Then I will see why the 6V to the starter switch disappeared.
