Default door locks

My 29 Tudor has a locking handle on the passenger side, but no lock on the drivers side. What is used to lock it?

Locks from inside on Left Door. Only R/S door handle should have a lock.

It's the other way on RHD vehicles, the left door is the one with the lock.

Thanks for the link Tom. A picture is worth a thousand words. Mine is missing the sliding bar.

It's too dangerous to exit the traffic side and bend over to lock it also by doing so you may block traffic from passing you, so one leaves the passenger side. In Fort Lauderdale Florida it is still illegal to exit the vehicle on the traffic side and you can get a ticket for doing so.

Just curious, would you be ticketed if you ran out of gas and needed to add gas on the traffic side (like my '55 Ford Ranchwagon)??

As I understand it, if you enter or exit a vehicle on the drivers side you may be ticketed. If by filling the tank on a roadway and you impede the flow of traffic you can be ticketed for impeding the flow of traffic.

Mike V. FLA,

Interesting, I suspected as such (safety reason) the key lock only on the passengers side.. Somewhat odd at first...
