A better solution than towing, but up a driveway may not work.

The dealer arranged the shipping and we paid the dealer, I also got quotes so I could compare.

Our car is being picked up today and the transport should be here tomorrow unless he gets here at midnight tonight. I now have a signed bill of sale and was told the car runs fine and has antifreeze in it and the registration will be in the car.

Glad that the car will soon arrive! From your comments sounds like a company we should all beware of! Not the owner I would want to deal with!

I finally got to talk to someone who did something and knew about the car. He said they went over the car and found it did not have the original carb so the got a new zenith carburetor and put it on. He said it is ready to drive as they drove it and everything works. They charged the battery and put in antifreeze and wiped the car down. He said the car looks brand new and it is in the truck and on it's way. The driver wanted to deliver it tonight and my wife said NO, in the morning. It would have been midnight by the time he got here. Hmmmmm, wonder if I'm going to sleep tonight.

I am surprised you didn’t over rule your wife and get it delivered when the opportunity was there.

Lightbulb You paid the Seller in advance for shipping ?

So you paid the Seller in advance for shipping ?

That was really stupid of them to do.

They are responsible for the Model A
arriving in the condition they sold it
to you in.

Do not sign anything when the car
shows up - video the car closely
while walking around it - note anything
you see that might be an issue in the video.

Video the Model A on the trailer and
off the trailer.

Once you have done that - call up
a local towing service to get it up
the driveway with a rollback.

It's better to wait for daylight to unload, accidents can happen when people are tired and in the darkness. Your wife was right! Have a good night dreaming about your new A, post pictures of it!!!

Jim
Good advice taking videos. They did a BILL OF LADING / VEHICLE INSPECTION REPORT and I have a copy. There were no issues. So if I find one chip, one ding they did it.

All done to my liking with the engine number as the VIN.

I just thought better to have it inside his garage overnight rather than in a motel parking lot.

I'm sure I have said this before on here but my wife and I are retired and need this. I just turned 81, have COPD and will not live-forever and my wife just turned 65, I keep her young. I used to have neat cars, had race boats and our lives have been one hell of an adventure, building homes and running a business. We live in a beautiful area and look foreword to getting in the A and taking a ride. It doesn't get much over 80 here in the mountains during the summer so it is perfect for a roadster. 68 days until spring.

This has been a great tread I love how the story progressed . I wish you all the best of luck to you . Remember it’s a 90 year old car ,nothing is perfect even a Henry winner! .but cleaning her .Working on her and learning as you go on with your new baby will be very rewarding . My thought has always been this we are only care takers of these wonderful automobiles .Some one owned and took care of your car before you ,and you with your excitement will take good care of her now and one day hopefully a long way down the road will continue to care for your beautiful car Best of luck Joe.

Thank you.
My youngest daughter lives in Seattle and has a house on Whidbey Island and she will be the caretaker after my wife and I are gone. She may be more excited than us as she knows my hotrodding history, spent lots of time at Old Town near Disney with all the old cars and she helped me rebuild her a hotrod boat in FL. She will some day haul it out to Whidbey I. and join the A club there, I sent her a link to it. Knowing her the car will be in good hands for a very long time to come.
