Need a dimension
Looking at trailers for long distance haul to shows. Double axle w/ brakes I'm thinking 16' V nose should do it. I know the pu is 13+' and weighs approx 2250#, wb is 103", but I can't find the width of the truck . Can anyone help. PU is enroute to me so I can't measure myself.
Also some VIN info pls.....#276521667, anyone ID where/when it was manuf? Thanks Gene

Re: Need a dimension
My trailer is 16' (regular front) and 6.5" wide. If you get one narrow like mine you will need an escape door on the drivers side besides the front passenger side door. Also you have to be almost spot on when it's loaded. Unless you have a guide when you unload it your A could just be slightly ascew and the fenders could swipe by the tailgate down guys. Other problems with a narrow trailer is it's difficult to hook the front tire hold downs unless you have the rear of the stap already hooked. If you plan on hauling any parts with you to shows you should not get shorter then 18'. If you get a 16' and that measurement includes the V it will not provide enough room to manuver around in the front area to strap the car down.
Benefits for me is a narrower trailer is easier to see when backing up or changing lanes. |

Re: Need a dimension
Enclosed and open trailers apparently have different advertised widths. An 8' open trailer is only 6.5' inside, the 8' is fender edge to edge. The enclosed trailers I haven't figured out yet. Some state inside some don't state.
I'm only interested in a V nose and they all seem state that 16' is the inside dimension, EXCLUDING the V. What is the width of your A?

Re: Need a dimension
there might be letters/numbers on the sub frame in front of the driver's seat which will identify the assembly plant.
list of the codes is somewhere on either the MARC or MAFCA web page.....
