"No such size as 16 1/2 ford rim, your not measuring it correctly somehow."

I hate to butt in,
actually 1984 ford F250 came with a 16.5" rim. and the dunlops on my E350 say not to fit on 16.5" rims.

Thanks to all, glad I asked! I haven't bought them yet as Bonneville is the prime thing on my mind right now. Going up to Newhall today to put Mosher's engine in the lakester, taking my turbo-Cook to load in for the trip. Sounds like I may have to widen my Kelsey's for the best fit, no problem.

Thumbs up Re: 185/80R16 tires

Hey, I found the 195/80 16R at Walmart web site. You can just see it on the Keley Hayes. Think of the difference in the rain.

I wonder why they are so specific that they are only to be used on the total electric vehicle ? You will have to mount them yourselves as Walmart will not mount them on a wheel that is not to be used on that specific vehicle...
I am thinking of doing it anyhow...

195/80 16R ? Do you need a tube when mounting these on 1935 wire rims?

Running tubeless on '35 wheels is easy as the spokes do not intrude into the rim. On Kelsey's the spokes need to be sealed, I do this with hardware-store silicone around each spoke and a wrap of duct tape around the sealed area, works good!

I wonder how many folks, besides Ice Man ,have had problems with 16 in . wheels with NO inner tubes.
As always ,thanks for your responses .

Why would there be a problem? they are 16" tires and fit the rims perfect..they are called tubeless but what they really have is a membrain to take the place of a tube...it will not tear if puntured like a tube will... folks have been running on 16" wheels and Ice Man is the only person I have ever heard of having problems.

Joel in Chester.....the new tires arrived today...

I've had a set of tubeless radials on mine for at least 6 years. No problems so far. Just make sure you keep the tire pressure where it belongs. If they get to soft you can peel them off the rims as there is no locking bead on these wheels.

That is good to know, thanks... today I will go into town and pay 6 prices for the new valve stems...then mount the tires...they look really great... Living in such a small town..(not even a stop light or parking meter) does have it's drawbacks....and some of the local merchants are real gougers... guess they have to be as there is not much business .... we are still $4.09 for regular gas...but what ya going to do ? drive 70 miles to buy gas?
