Gas Stations in the Model A Ford Time Period
We are posting some gas station photos on TheOldMotor.com and thought it might be interesting to start a thread here just for gas stations and garages in the Model A time period. Can any of you add interesting photos to this thread? The photo above is one of our favorties and it was taken in Geneva N.Y. in 1928. Check in here to see your first fund raiser to help out The Larz Anderson Automobile Museum With an incredible gem of a car. |

Interesting that the car on the left is wearing IL plates with an Evanston Il tax tag way out in NY.

Dan Strohl from Hemmings Daily, found an interesting John Vachon photo that Shorpy posted this week of a migrant fruit worker’s car, taken in July 1940. |

The Good Gulf is only 18 CENTS a Gallon in this photo. Check out the Gulf set up on the side of the pump to help the pump jockey make more sales. This is another pump that we need help with to date. |

How about this neat gas pump price sign we have at The Old Motor. More pictures here that show all the price sheets and the construction of the sign. Think gas prices are to high compared to years ago? Check here to get the real story. |

Re: Gas Stations in the Model A Ford Time Period
I liked it when America looked like this. I think we have lost something irreplaceable.
These pix remind me of an old joke, though: What kind of bees hang around gas stations? Esso bees!

Yep, most of us lost our figures due to service stations being replaced by food stops!
