Default Radius ball felt

I seem to have misplaced the felt for my radius ball and was wondering if anyone knew the correct size and a substitute that could be used?

Kevin,

This is not much help at all; however, been a while since I installed one, but as far as I can remember appears they were about 4-1/2" wide, (left to right), x about 1" thick, x 2-3/4" deep (front to back), made out of black, regular soft felt.

Only place I can think of which would have thick felt is a felt company; however, seems cheaper & faster to get this item from Model A vendor.

Hope someody can assist to suggest something else -- sometimes when zero (0) answers to questions get upgraded to one (1)answer, subsequent answers follow.

I purchased one from an A vendor and it seems like it is to big to fit in the space between the two bolts and the shaft that holds the bolts. Anyone know of a place where there may be a picture of how to install this felt or do you have a picture??

Thanks

Kevin,

Not trying to be facetious, but as a last resort, did you tell your wife or girl friend that you misplaced this item -- now that you have a picture above from Mr. Tom Endy, it is worth a try.

Years of experience shows that for some reason females have a super keen knack for finding "everything" around the house & garage or office, whether misplaced or purposely hidden. Worth a try! It was Eve who found the tree of knowledge for Adam,

I used a piece of scotch bright. Lets the oil through to the ball pretty much like felt.

Got it done with the motor and tranny in place. I fished the bolts one at a time up through the hole by lightly taping them to a screwdriver at a slight angle, then lowered them down through the bolt holes and working the screwdriver back and forth while holding the bolts until the tape broke free. Since the grooves in the tops of the bolts matched the cotter pin holes of the bolts I was able to line up the tops of the bolts with the cross pin and slide the pin straight in. I then oiled the felt and pushed it into position as shown in Tom's photo. The entire process took less than 10 minutes. I also greased the ball and cups with Mystic 6 (red stuff) before tightening. My Bride worked the jack to lift the radius bar into position as I lined everything up.
