Wide Friction Tape?
Tearing down a '40 body, prepping for a media blasting. I'm finding friction tape used for anti-squeak in places like around top of dash, under the battery box, and probably others where it's been removed. When I start buttoning it back together, I will need some wide friction tape. Who sells it? Thanks: Fred A

Re: Wide Friction Tape?
Fred, You don't need the wide tape. Regular will work if you already have it.
Just use 2 pieces. The only place I recall seeing that tape was when I removed my 40 dash. It was folded along the top edge all the way across. You might want to wrap the flat metal pieces that hold the instrument cluster in place to prevent squeaking. That was not done on OEM cars. I used vinyl tape. |

Re: Wide Friction Tape?
It was seeing the tape across the top edge of the dash that made me wonder if I was missing something. I have a Model A that squeaks loudly under the windshield and don't need another. Thanks: Fred A
That's a clean looking under dash shot. |

Hardware stores and plumbing shops all have it. Shops that mount tires on wheels that have spokes going through the rim also use it. Comes in a roll like duct tape. Only smaller. |
