Congratulations on your 75th Anniversary! Your story reminds me of several my father told me about splitting the cost of a car with others. His first was at the age of 12 and the $10 cost for a 1923 Oldsmobile touring was split between 5 friends of about the same age. They hadn't driven it far before they were pulled over by a motorcycle cop who asked, "OK, which one of you guys has a license to drive?" My father, who slipped away from us a couple years ago, was also a WWII vet - 11th Armored Division.
