Default Minnesota Steam Train Photo Op

Next Saturday, October 10th, the 261 will make a run to near Superior, Wisconsin and return the same day. This is a fall colors tour, and you can either ride the train or use it for a good photo op. Just study the route and have your Model A parked at one of the crossings as the train zips by. I did both about 10 years ago.

The next day, Sunday the 11th, the 261 will head west to Willmar, Minnesota, and return the same day. Same thing goes, you can ride the train or use it as a good photo op.

Bill, yes it was, and I didn't even get a picture of that.

Randy, you are probably right. It's a picture I saw on the internet and thought it was one of the best looking steam engines I've seen. Some day I'd like the see the beautiful Southern Crescent Limited at the Smithsonian. That's probably my all time favorite.

So let me get this straight Tom:

You burnt up your hands AND got blown off a scooter by a train?

A life that is NOT dull, is a life well lived.

Tom,
Also in the Smithsonian, I saw the most BEAUTIFULLY restored steam engine from Santa Cruz, Ca! It was used to haul Redwood logs from the canyons just North of Santa Cruz, around the town of Felton, Fabulous area. Everyone should add the SMITHSONIAN to their BUCKET LIST. Any ADVICE on how to fix the HOLE in my BUCKET?
Saw a video once, tracks set up & loading an old steamer into a Military Transport, for shipment to Carls' country, in ALASKA!!
Bill W. (OH, is the owner of that steam scooter still ALIVE?)
