Default Brentwood Bob shocks

Unsolicited shout out. My '29 standard coupe came with a modern shock set on the car and as many will know , the ride is pretty stiff with such a light car with the tube type shocks. I contacted Bob after seeing his ad on the swap section of the 'barn and purchased a set from him along with the front and rear arms. The rebuilt originals looked good and after installing them I took a ride over smooth as well as rough roads. The ride was smooth and comfortable. But those who have made the switch know this but it was a pleasure to have the better, smoother ride. Bob was great to work with. Shipping was quick and although they're pricey, $1200 per set, I consider it an investment in keeping Clarissa the Coupe as original as possible.

Just rebuilding one who-die shock can be a lot of work depending on condition let alone four of them. A persons time is always worth something. Known good cores are top dollar for what they are unless a person gets lucky and finds a good set at a flea-market (harder to come by these days). $300 each is looking better all the time. New Stipe ones are up there too but they aren't original either.

Appreciate the plug. I bought a lotto today. Glad your improved ride was the outcome you were after. That is a complicated little device.

Brentwood Bob is one of my favorite Model A people, and anything he builds is likely to be top notch!
