thermometer problem
The thermometer on my repop Flying Quail cap has developed a gap in the red alcohol, is there a way to repair this without replacing the thermometer?
Thanks Tim |

Re: thermometer problem
The instructions that came with a original motormeter said that if the liquid became seperated to tap it on the spare tire, another way i have read about is to tie a "rope" to it and swing it , a slow method is to let it sit with the top at a slight up angle --reversing what probably caused it to seperate ---improper storage

Re: thermometer problem
My grandpa told me about the rope trick. I tied it very securely and swung it for about two or three minutes and it worked. I was surprised but he was not.

Re: thermometer problem
Tried the rope trick, tapping it on the spare, and freezing it. Only managed to separate the disconnected alcohol into smaller segments. Heating it with a heat gun until it went to the top finally connected it all back together. Things back to normal and I thank everybody for the suggestions.
