Default Rare Model A generator ?

Recently a custmer came in with an unusual Model A generator . I have never seen one like this & maybe its from a Ford tractor, It has FORD X 9 on the case, A cast front to the case, rear cover has the terminal on it rather than on top where the cut out goes plus a screw that one ajusts for the output marked hi & low. It mounts to engine same way as normal A one, Anyone shed some light on the above , Hope pictures show the points i have stated , Thanks in advance,

Low output completely sealed to keep dust out. Tractor for sure.

I have one on my doodlebug that came off my 2N tractor. Works good and easy to adjust output. Just had to add a cutout.

I've got one that is similiar. I think mine is for an old 9N Ford tractor. Mine has an adjustment screw on the rear cover for the third brush but no terminal. The rear cover on mine would interchange with the later style model A generator. Mine is red and the pulley threads on to the armature. There were variations in the Ford tractor starters but some are similiar to the late tube type model A generators.
