30 pickup gas tank

Ive been block sanding my pickup cab getting it ready for sealer primer. I think I remember a post about installing the gas tank prior to painting but cant find the thread. Is this true?

Being as the welt is suppose to be painted, I paint the dash and inside the cab parts of the tank and edges of the cowl where the tank sits first. I then install the tank and welt, mask off the dash and paint the cab with the tank and welt in place.

I know if I painted the tank before install I'd have it all scratched up by the time I got the welt and tank squeezed back in.

Thank you Sir, wasn't in the correct category...................Installing the tank was a piece of cake, LOL! All it took was two girls, a bottle of soap, one standing light fixture that ended up being a casualty of a bad temper and cut finger. THE IM GONNA INSTALL MY MODEL A GAS TANK GODS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, gotter done
