Not sure now, I sort of assumed it was on his 1930 roadster. I'll zip him an email to check.

Greek to me also. The only plates I know of are the patent plate and the manufacture plate that has the model number and a serial number.

Re: Fire wall plate on passenger side. Decode it?
It could be a modern vin # plate required if the car was relicensed after a long period of non registration? Happens here.
Ford did not put build information on data plates until much later eg. 1940's, '50's. |

Re: Fire wall plate on passenger side. Decode it?
Ok I got a bit more information from him. Turns out he just has the tag. He thinks it's from a square cab truck out on the farm that apparently has pretty much turned to rust. Maybe earlier, perhaps a T. Thanks for trying.

Not from a Model T or TT. The only plate on the dash/firewall is the Pat. plate. It would look some what like the Pat. plate shown above.

He was able to send me a picture. To me it looks to be something "newer".

okay ill revise the part number since your original post had an 8 instead of a B E1BE-5E212-DB E1 is a 1981 5E212 is a basic part number for a catalytic converter this is a tag that was mounted on a catalytic converter assy. they fall off from the rivets rusting and sometimes actually make a rattle if they get caught in between the converter and shield.... Jeepers that's funny. I think that he thought he had something really special. I'll break the news to him gently.
Thanks guys.
