Screwed up accounts...
Hey guys... To fight a couple of members that were abusing the rating system, I created a new usergroup that removed a user's ability to rate a thread. In doing so, I accidentally added about 200 or so of you to it without realizing it. I believe this is fixed now, but if you are having issues with your account, just shoot me a pm.
Thanks and sorry! Ryan |

Re: Screwed up accounts...
I guess this thread would be a test thread to see who's been naughty or nice!!!!!
OOOPS!!!! I'm good....just gave this thread 5 stars.

Thank you for all the work, it amazes me how a small number of members can create so much grief in the forum that supports the hobby. Keep up the good work!! Thank you again

Re: Screwed up accounts...
Yes thank you Ryan, this is the best Forum ever....I can't believe all the Model A action
here. I don't think the Model T guys have found their way here like the rest of the groups. Please keep up the good work. |

Re: Screwed up accounts...
Well I see a rating star system still up for me.
So I guess I am not an abuser. Last edited by pooch; 01-18-2017 at 04:52 AM. |

Re: Screwed up accounts...
Seems to me it would be a lot easier to manage if everyone is in that group.
I can't see a reason I would want to rate anyone's thread. |

Think of usergroups as this: You have your presidents and high up group that make the rules (Ryan) then you drop down to normal citizens (majority of us) and have the benefits of being a citizen - post ads, post questions, respond to questions, rate things etc BUT we cant change the layout of the forum or kick people out. then below that lets call them tourist - yes they are here and can ask questions but dont have the full rights that a citizen does - this is the new special group where some privileges have been taken away. then below that you have the group of people that arent in your "country"(forum) but read about it (non forum members) and cant post any questions. Usergroups are a way to corral people - not just in a bad way as every cooperation most of its day to day people have very little that they can change on company computers. Sure they can go on the internet, write papers, create and edit spreadsheets but they cant change things like antivirus, install potentially bad programs, or muck about in the settings too much. The IT department has full access to everything as they know what their doing (hopefully).

Re: Screwed up accounts...
Ryan, I have seen forums using the same software that has who voted how when you click on the ratings. How hard would it be to implement that here?

Re: Screwed up accounts...
I reckon how many strikes one has beside their name when they have been banned would be a good implementation too.
There is senior member and junior member, a strike number would be interesting . Would be funny to see how a guy with 2 strikes under his belt would conduct himself in the present . ( Compared to how his conduct was before the strikes.) |

Re: Screwed up accounts...
I can read and I can reply. I don't really care about post numbers or thread ratings. I read what interests me. I do enjoy seeing where everyone's from, though.

Pretty easy... but I'm not about to give folks another reason to be mad at each other.

Re: Screwed up accounts...
I like seeing the number of post or views. Lets you know if anyone is even reading what you took time to post. Same with the classifieds, nice to know someone is looking.
