Default Ford Small Block ID Guide

I search for a book, where I can find all the ID numbers from the Ford Small Block, to find out in which year mine is built, from what car it comes out and so on. I know such a book for the SBC engines, so I thought the SBF should have one, too. Thanks for your help, Alex

Probably better to search for SBF ID numbers or book on http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=5

I don't know if any one book will do it all. I assume that you are refereing to the Ford V8 made from 1962 to near current date (221, 260, 289,302, & 351W). The 239, 272, 292, & 312 Y-blocks predate those and the 221, 239, & 255 flatheads predate those.

Ford made a lot of "small" blocks. I've always used the old Motor repair manuals to aid in ID of different engines but they are no longer in print. I find them on Amazon now and then. They go by groups of years 1935 to 53, 1953 to 62, 1962 to 68, and so on.
