Default Slow post

I know there are regular complaints about slow post.
This must have been delivered by Postman Pat.

We see that sort of thig occasionally. Sometimes the letter falls behind a cabinet and is only found and sent on when renovations are done. Sometimes the postie has a flat tyre!

dont even want to talk about the usps over here........certified mail isnt even making it anymore. Ive had 3 certified letters returned in the last 4 months. they all made it to the town and then, returned.

One went 2 1/2 hours away and only took 7 weeks to get back.

Today Im going to use UPS, which appears to be far more reliable and costly....lol

China seems to be able to handle it, eventually.

Hey, Updraught, great thread, thanks. Slightly off topic, but not entirely. I ordered some parts around Christmas that arrived late, after some sunny days, that were soaking wet. I think the post office or delivery person set them out in the rain a week before.

Nice to laugh at but the current situation with overnight shipping is extreme.. I have customers who require uptime regardless of cost, and for years overnight shipping was reliable in meeting the demand,,, not anymore..now overnight is three day,yet when its 2 days late you still pay the overnight charge..the cost to our economy must be high..

Still waiting on the 2nd stimulos check ! ! I may have to take a credit on the I/tax when I file. Funny thing is my wife got hers about 4 weeks ago. Still haven't got February's Hemmings.

Everything seems to have slowed down lately. I am still waiting for a package that was delivered to my shipper's depot on July 31st last year. Maybe I'll get it inside 12 months but I'm not holding my breath. Freight was no slower in the days of sailing ships.

I have read on two occasions of mail delivery men, who have been found to have had each of their respective garages full of undelivered mail.

2 out of 600,000 postal workers is not alarming. The vast majority are very honest, hard working individuals. Possibly this was Australia you are referring to.

Any/all packages I send are only sent FedEx or UPS. NO problems.

I bought a used Champion C4X spark plug in the UK back in December. Based on the shipment tracking number, it went from London to New York; back to London; then to Miami, then to Chicago, then to New Jersey, and eventually to my address in Maryland.....and only took a little over three weeks to be delivered.

We used to live in a tiny country town in central Victoria called Elmhurst. It was surprising how often mail ended up in New York. Evidently, there is an area there by the same name.

Without naming names, we know why the USPS has been rendered increasingly inefficient in the last six months, don’t we.

Does that mean I could visit all of those places without leaving home?
I live in Melbourne now and I read a few years ago of a guy who wanted to go to Melbourne, Florida. His ticket was Melbourne to Melbourne and return!!!

It isn't just USPS...Our company has a shipment that has been sitting on a major freight line's dock waiting local delivery for 4 weeks. Here is a copy of an email from a couple of days ago, still waiting...
Quote:
said they are still backed up and this is not on the list today to go out. I told them that I've been calling since the first of the month and was told on the 9th and 10th that it was on the hot list to go out. They said they know and are real sorry. They're still saying that the customer would be better off to come get it if they can. The lady's going to go check to see where it's actually at now (which dock). I told her I was going to call her back later today to get another update.
It's happening everywhere by everyone... Like the movie Groundhog Day...
