53 Ford Radiator
I am currently working on the cooling system and had my original radiator tested.
I knew it had a leak and the radiator shop told me that it needed to be re-cored (which they could do) or buy a new one. They recommended a new one as an option. Any suggestions? |

Re: 53 Ford Radiator
What's the cost difference? What's the quality difference?

Re: 53 Ford Radiator
The 'new' aluminum radiators that I have see do not look any thing like the original radiator. If you don't care about looking original then that's an option.
If the top of your tank is in good shape (no major dents/creases etc.) then a re-core will serve you just as well as a new aluminum one.

Re: 53 Ford Radiator
Give a call to U.S. Radiator. My neighbor got one from them for his 53 and it looked like original. It was a copper/brass radiator and the price was the same as a recore. www.usradiator.com

Re: 53 Ford Radiator
If your not concerned about "original looks" check out www.championcooling.com they have a great one for about $200 that includes shipping. Put one of these chrome beauties in my 52 and love it. Sorry the pic is sideways.
