I am running a 59A block with punched .125 oversize piston, 4" Merury crank , 1077B cam with dual 97 Strombergs carbs Is the Autolite 216 spark plugs hot enough or do I need something hotter . Thanks in advance

I cannot answer your question but our engines are similar. I have Edelbrock heads, dual 97s, 4 inch crank and bored .145, H & H 355 lift 274 duration cam and Fentons. The heads came with a card saying use Champion RYC12 plugs. Those plugs run rich. I went up one step to RYC14 plugs. Try different plugs as they are relatively cheap. Heat range charts can be found on the net

I also have a similar engine and the autolite 216s work ok for me.

My engine is a 276ci with offy .400 heads. I ran Autolite 216 and it ran OK. When I had to replace the head gaskets I found the 216's didn't reach far enough. I found Autolite 4092 or 4093 to be longer than 216. I'm using 4093 and chamfered the hole back to the plug. Engine seems to run better.

Those Offy heads call for 3/4in. plugs. Autolite has then in the same het range as 216. I think there 14--something. Walt

Tried 3/4 inch reach plugs and they were too long.

The correct Champion number is RJ14YC (#63). I set mine at .028.

The plugs are regular tip. I don't know how old the heads are. They are marked .400. I cc'd them and they were 60-62 cc's. Don't know much about the engine as I was LIED to sooooo much about the truck when I bought it! It wasn't running when I bought it. The valve lift is .325 inches. Can you shed some light on what I might have? After getting this engine fixed and tuned properly it runs real good! Also, got 18+ mpg this summer on a 500+ mile trip!
