Default Phaeton/Roadster Rear Window

Was the rear window on phaetons and roadsters glass, or was it some type of acrylic?

The rear window on our phaeton is acrylic and has become hazed and checked. I have been debating on replacing the window and was wondering if it should be replaced with another acrylic piece, or if glass is okay to use. If glass, is there any specific type that is recommended? Also, is there any kind of sealer that goes between the window frame and the top? I do not want to ruin the top trying to pull everything apart.

Thanks!

It is glass, I don't think they had acrylic yet back then. You could have a glass shop make it or save the trouble and buy it from one of the suppliers.

It appears that at least Snyders is out of stock on it, so maybe you have to have it made. They sell it with the inner and outer frame anyways, which you probably don't need.

I wouldn't use any sealer as the window frames are supposed to pinch the top and create a seal more or less. Besides, you probably won't be driving the car when it is pouring rain anyways.
