Default radius lifters for isky 404

I am wondering why these radius'd lifters for the isky 404 are just radius'd in two places and then indexed to the lifter bores with a wire staple. this is a hard job and takes special tools. Why not radius the lifter all the way around and let them turn ??

The first prototype 404's that Isky made had full radius (spherical ground) lifters.
They didn't last one race program.
With point contact the loading was so high everything just wore out right away.
