Happy International Model A Ford Day
I had forgotten about today being the day, that is until after I got to work. Waited until the sun came up and took a couple of photos to show off. Darryl in Sunny Fairbanks, Alaska 35 degrees |

Drove 260 miles round trip to Ben Wheeler. Coming home, it was pouring down rain, but still had fun anyways.

Piedmont (North Carolina) MARC made a three-day tour to Bedford and Roanoke Va. Visited the D-Day Memorial, the Virgina Museum of Transportation, the O. Winston Link Museum, the shopping malls, Black Dog Salvage (of TV fame) and finished off with a ride home on the Blue Ridge Parkway. 6 Model A's and one modern car. 386 miles total.

Re: National Model A day tomorrow whos riding
Country Roads MARC, from western NC, met the East TN MARC Club at the Burnsville, NC Old Timey Fall Festival. Each club drove about 100 miles round trip. The beautiful, blue sky, 70 degree day was perfect for a short Model A drive in the mountains. The Festival started with an antique car and tractor parade thru town. Then our old cars and tractors were parked around the small town square for a show. The festival was held on the town square and included numerous traditional music bands playing live on a stage, dancers, crafts demonstrations and venders, food vendors, antique dealers, and civil war re-enactors.

Re: National Model A day tomorrow whos riding
Orange Co CA hosted a SoCal lunch in the park event today. There was a ton of competition for cars in other events but we drew 40 Model A's and fed 125 happy Model A'ers. The weather couldn't have been more beautiful but I would trade a little of it for a little of your rain. Ain't seen anything like that around here in a long spell.
Thanks to all who came out and made the event a success. Barry Beckley from Diamond Tread Chapter took home the flat panel TV. Richard Anaheim CA |

Re: National Model A day tomorrow whos riding
Well, Bro Purdy, It finally got cool here, 76 degrees & beautiful! I celebrated "A" day by fertilizing the lawn, wiped down my back fenders, slammed the driver's door, & sorted out a whole drawer of mostly NEW small parts. I counted 46 NEW 6 volt light bulbs!! (I think they're reproducing in that DARK drawer???) Or maybe Buster T.'s been ordering more SPARES! Bill W.

Re: National Model A day tomorrow whos riding
Man was to day a fun day . I was running late as usual The NewOrleans As started out at the MA Green parking lot and headed west on Hwy 61 about 5 miles into the trip one of the As stopped running. Im trying to play catchup so I have the pedal the the wood . almost past them up by a block. stopped backed up and checked it out . it was only the scruber on the points had worn down and I re adjusted it for the guy and off we went. and off we go almost getting run over buy a Bicycle club that was going down 61 also. so off we go we get a good 25 miles into the trip and another one drops out over heating issues . got so hot it cooked the paint off the head. No help for him but he got home fine on a trailer. so now every one has gone ahead My son and I drove the rest of the 68 miles and pull in. just enough time to say high to every one and find out another A from one of the other clubs that was meeting up with us has broke down . so I drive over to where he is and it turns out it just had a loose distributor. I tightend it up and off we went . I found out later there was another A in my club that broke down but didn't find out till we were on or way back . but none the less I stopped on the way back and helped get him running also . I had a blast.

Re: National Model A day tomorrow whos riding
Our local Ford dealer in Arroyo Grande had 7 pretty nice Model A's in their A-1 used car lot section yesterday. Hear no customers reached the "will sell for price" that the current owners were looking for so all 7 A's went back home. Dealership had BBQ, drinks, and a bounce room for the kids so everyone seemed to have a great time and are looking forward to next year. Great world wide event!IMAFD 2013 001 (Large).jpg

Re: National Model A day tomorrow whos riding
Took the roadster out today and did some leaf peeping with Julie and our springer spaniel. Some color, but the day is perfect and the car did its usual splendid job. Hope we have lots more.
