1928 roadster top pictures needed
My upholstery shop has done 1930 and 1931 roadster tops but not 1928 or 1929. We are in dire need of inside and outside front mounting brackets and how top mounts.

Do you have the top irons? Here is a temporary link to flea pay to an unrestored set that is missing one of the front hold down clamps. The 28/29 type and likely some of the later standard roadsters have the semi-hollow irons with the wood inside to tack to. Of course the wood rots and it's quite a task to take them apart and put new wood in them.

Re: 1928 roadster top pictures needed
I have the top irons and wood bows. Our problem is I bought a roadster top kit 6 years ago and now want to put it together and on my 28 roadster. Our local uphostery shop has done 30 and 31 but not 28 or 29 roadsters. He is more confused than me.

Someone on Fordbarn should have Lebaron Bonnie or Classtique instructions. If you can find someone with the instruction, you could install the kit yourself or give the instructions to the upholstery shop. In fact, I found a set of instructions from LB. If you send me your email address, I could take a photo of them and email them to you. The instruction set says it is for 28 through 31, which leads me to believe 28/29 and standard 30/31 tops are pretty much the same.

This link is from Classtique. It doesn't answer all questions I would have but it gives a lot of tips for the 28/29 style top. Some of the top installation is same as 30/31 Standard and a little bit for Deluxe. It should help some.
