Default 28 roadster front seat

How do you remove the front seat back in a 28 roadster? I am getting it ready for the paint shop. They will be painting the inside and outside.

If you remove the seatback upholstery, it is almost impossible to reinstall it. There is a flap the goes over the wood belt rail and stapled to the wood. Then hidem is installed to cover the tacks securing the front seat flap. When the seatback upholstery was initially install, there was "salvage" material that allowed the installer to stretch the upholstery before tacking it to the wood. The salvage material was then cut off. That means there is little upholstery material left to stretch the the seatback material to the beltrail. I would recommend you mask off the seatback upholstery then paint the inside of you roadster.

Micky,

in my roadster, the backrest was fixed with wood screws starting from the mother-in-law seat. In addition, as previously written, the overhang of the upper backrest padding must be removed the brackets. This can be restored well again.
