Can anyone provide info on configuration of wheel stripes for 47 super deluxe coupe? The 41-48 book provides wheel stripe colors but I can't seem to find info about size, exact location, or number of stripes per wheel. Thanks, Steve

Symsr1044, I checked an original wheel I have and it shows 3 stripes. 1st is 1/16 wide than 1/8 space 2nd stripe is 1/8 wide than another 1/8 space and 3rd stripe 1/16 wide. I put a hubcap on and the first stripe starts 1 inch from edge of hubcap. Hope this helps.

What werevthe wheel stripe colors offered. Did it matter what car color was or was this independent of that. Thanks

Not sure about Ford, but the Zephyr wheels all had silver stripes regardless of body color.

I had an original '48 Ford that was Tucson Tan in color and had orange stripes on the wheels.

I believe the stripe color was based on body color, I know maroon Had Tacoma Cream stripes

I remember back in the late 40's there was an old guy always dressed in a
suite that was a retired horse and buggy stripper. He did the wheels with
3 brushes held in one hand and turned the wheel doing all three stippes
one time. He would go to the bar every afternoon and get loaded. One day
about a block from the bar I saw a couple of ladies looking at someone on
the ground about block from the bar, it was old Bill. I stopped and took

My black Super Deluxe stripes are white. Pretty sure they are original, but can't guarantee! Spacing is as indicated in posts above.
