Default Shakin down the 59 4x4

I finally got the Dana 24 swapped for a 205, had to fab new mounting plates. I haven't taken it past the city limits but everything seems good. Runs and stops great. Just a joy to drive. Kind of a slow boat with the 4.56 gears. Looking for a set of the optional 19.5 wheels.

Really nice truck you have, Fords first year to offer 4x4. I have a 66 4x4 which is the same chassis as yours. They are a lot of fun to drive, in fact it is my wife's favourite to drive of all our old vehicles. Have fun with it, don't worry about the Rpms of the engine at highway speeds, they can handle it, they were built to be used.

about 3000 rpms at 60 mph. I wouldn't push it much faster than that for any period. We have 80 on the interstate. If I had the 19.5s it would knock down to about 2600 at 60.

Upon further investigation, the tires available for the 19.5 wheels barely gain any height over the 16s.

Thanks!! Since I've had it running, I haven't driven anything else until today and I had a door tore apart to go get a new window cut.
