One case/reason Bob,

Drivng my 1928 chev 2dr on the street, in about 1970. Two young guys pulled up beside my chev in traffic in a hot rod. Q: 'How much to sell your chev' ? A: 'more than you got' ! Q: can you pull over and let us look at your car' ? A: ' sure'.

Long story short is that the driver did have plenty of $ to buy my chev...and did ! Just like ALWAYS, didn't like seeing that car go. I got that guys address and he lived about 20 minutes across town.

One day about a year later, I drove past his house. There in his front yard was my '28. Is was also in his side yard, etc...
Strewn all over his property that I could see was pieces of wood and sheet metal. This WAS a nice original complete car that met its' end with this young guy. These cars were sheet metal nailed to wood and just too much for his imagination.

Yes, when I was young and walking through wrecking yards the 20s and 30s fords were standing tall and the old Chevys were also there but just in piles. So what would you rather bring home ?
