Default Window glass

All of the widow glass is out of my 30 coupe as we prepare body for painting. The windshield has been replaced due to a crack all other glass looks good but is not safety glass. We have been restoring this car as authentic as possible only a few small changes (diode regulator , master switch and updated 2 blade fan). Should I go ahead and replace glass with safety glass or use the original? The car will be drivin some but not everyday. Will this subtract from value?

Personally, I would replace it, for safety and peace of mind. JMO

Remember: There is a difference between safety glass and tempered glass. You really want safety glass on the windshield, but tempered glass might be a better choice for the side and rear glass.

A local glass shop can do it if they are good! Or buying from one of the model a vendors would be a better choice if it were me!!!

If you have a good local shop, take the original glass in and explain what you need. Show them the thickness and corner and edge finish of the original glass and ask them to match it. I have tempered glass in all mine except the windshields, which are safety glass. There is no discernible difference between the old and new. It most definitely will not detract from the value, and may save a life in the event of an accident.
