Smile Sharing a smile

Was out with the coupe yesterday afternoon and pulled into a small store. In the car parked next to me was a little boy maybe 6 or 7 who put down his window and said. " That's a nice car mister". I said thank you and went into the store on my return the boy was still there and he said. "It's nice to see how it was in oldfashund days, I think when that car was new they must have pulled it with horses". I smiled and said" maybe so I wasn't around then". He said " have a nice day mister" to witch I replied "you too little fella". Chuckled all the way home.

Next time let him sit in it with his parent's permission! I try to let kids that show respect for our old cars the opportunity to sit behind the wheel and have their picture taken. The parents are almost as thrilled as the kids. It builds good will for future owners of our pride and joys.

Nice ! ! !

Around here somebody would have called the cops and had the father or mother arrested for leaving the kid in the car.

I fully agree, these kids are the future custodians of our cars. We must encourage them from a young age.

When I got my 1930 CCPU basket case, three of my kids said they want it when I'm done with it.

It will be in the family a long time.. I hope.

LOL, that's about it.
This sure isn't the common sense country we grew up in. Yesterday I was just thinking about how we would hitch hike and also pick up hitch hikers back in the 60's.

While sitting in Minerva, talking with the Mother of a 7 year old girl, the girl, standing in front of the L/F fender, gently laid her body over the fender, looked in her Mothers' face & said, "Mother, I just LOVE this car"!-----------And dummy me, WITHOUT my CAMERA! (I always have a small sign in the window,-------- "Yes, you can touch my car"-----------)

I always say, "It's older than your grandmother" with a smile. That gives the little tike an idea of age.

Tom, the last time I hitchhiked was 2005, after climbing a 14,000' mountain, and losing my ride home from a scheduling error. Grrr...

I pulled mine back from Wyoming to Texas, and I can't tell you the number of times I got asked about it or people would honk and give me the thumbs up. Kinda makes you proud doesn't it.

As I slammed Minervas' door, a blind man said, "I heard a Model A door slam"! After a delightful chat------"May I touch her"?---After a thorough inspection & questions, he stood with his hand on the horn-----"Let 'er RIP"---AHOOOOGA! ! !
