Default Need help with 30 coupe broken bolts in seat sliders

When removing the seat to be upholstered I found several bolts broken in the seat sliders. They are originals and no way are they coming out The female threads in the seat slider appear to be "inserts" that are peened over. Can these be replaced or is there a plan B? The sliders are in otherwise great shape so i really don't want to replace the complete slider units.

If I grind off the peened over will the insert drop out so I can get a nut underneath?

Yes, I believe so. You might be able to adapt D nuts to the track.

Use a acetylene torch with a small tip and heat the bolt until it is bright red then let it air cool until the red goes away, then put water on it. then reach underneath and unscrew it. If you need to protect the paint lay a flat washer on it and heat through the hole on the washer.

I don't know if it's the same on the '30 but on my late '31 it's riveted to thefloor.

Can you drill out broken the pieces and then retap them? Or drill out threaded inserts and install new D nut inserts. The parts suppliers have these inserts.
