Default Manifold -to- block studs ?

Domed studs were 7/16''-20 and 7"16-14x2-3/16'' long . Judging standards...Bratton's parts list Manifold studs as -1928 to Feb.1929 as domed and there after Flat end .Before i change these 4 studs to dome which is correct ? i know Bratton's is a parts house but why would he spend the money and time making a incorrect part and listing it... Or JS did not print the rest of the update ? thanks

The earlier studs were rounded. The later were flat.

Yes, Fred as stated [ 1928 to Feb 1929 domed and there after flat end [top] .Someone said JB weld,, round top would do the trick better then removing the flat top studs that i have. But before i go thru all this i really want to make sure. I was told mine was wrong and i should of known better ...

That might be reason enough for me to leave them as they are?

Part of the life and time of this car. History writ large and in your face. Well, somebody's face.

And a history that is only original ONCE.

The hubris of some is beyond comprehension.

My Grandfather always said if someone is looking for something wrong why disappoint them? But then again he never restored show cars.

Pete,

I know for sure it's at least a 1928 item(domed head). I did find the stud
in the PPL but not in the Hardware Book, which is interesting! Did you look
in the JS?......which I haven't done yet...

Model "A" early 1931 ,Town Sedan unrestored 31,000 miles has flat top studs. Engine in my car 13,000 original miles and that's what was on my engine. Anyone else with a low mileage engine unrestored with flat and not dome heads studs??Should be all Mid. 1929 to 1930 /31's engines thanks you

Received word that the way Bratton's catalog is correct [studs flat after Feb. 1929] and not domed. Will be corrected in the next Judging standards .
