Default signal lights added to 1936 Fordor

I checked through the posts. Lots of bits and pieces on this subject. But nothing that helps a newbe understand the process. Does anyone have an actual step by step on how to add signal lights in? My car came with two kits from Macs (attached). The car was converted to 12V with an alternator. I would like to stay with the original tail lights. The instructions in the kits help with mounting, but where do I tap into the harnesses? What gage wire do I use? Where is the best place to tap into the harnesses? I truly appreciate the help!
Thank you in advance,
Lou

When I rewired my '39 p/u and converted to 12 volts I used a similar signal unit. I'll go down to the shop and see if I still have the install paper work. Another thought is to call Rebel Wiring. I have read threads about how helpful their tech support is EVEN if you didn't buy it from them. Don't know if they can help or not but its worth a phone call. All they do is say no. I have bought 2 wiring kits from them and only had to call tech support once and that was to clarify the correct radio fuse size. The tech I spoke with was pleasant, knowledgeable, and told me to call anytime if I had questions or a problem. 423-263-5399

I have the VSM signal stat 900 type in my car ( very good unit) and made my own wiring harness up wrapped it in black insulation tape and ran it through the chassis rails . I wired the front signal lights into the park lamps of my car and got a double filament bulb holder with pigtails from G &G ford. For the rear I got 2 original ford back up lights and converted them to turn signals with orange bulbs and made a lens out of clear orange plastic ( kitchen cleaner bottle) which I put behind the globe and glass. Works good too. It doesn't detract from the look of the car, they are effective and my mental health is a lot better as I don't cop abuse from motorists that don't know what hand signals are or from those that think I am giving them a rude sign each time my hand goes out the window.
