Re: Help Identifying Part Please
These are your window anti-rattler strips that are to be mounted under your garnish moldings to prevent the window glass from rattling.

Re: Help Identifying Part Please
I have an original pair of these, and the rubber is hard as steel. Is there replacement rubber available? I don’t have any current supplier catalogs or internet access.
I like to keep parts original and restore them when I can, but it may make more sense to replace them with new repro.

You do have internet access because you were able to post a comment on this thread. Brattons has these anti- rattlers: https://www.brattons.com/WINDOW-ANTI...uctinfo/31360/ |

Re: Help Identifying Part Please
It has been a couple of years, but I seem to remember that I had a hard time getting the repops to fit right. I took my originals and put in new rubber scavenged from a windshield wiper. I will have to look at them again and see.

Re: Help Identifying Part Please
The easiest way to replace the old rubber with new is to use a propane torch and burn the old out, then clean it well with a wire brush. Then, after painting them, install the new rubber by pulling it through from one end. This can be done carefully without kinking them so that they can be reinstalled in your car.

Re: Help Identifying Part Please
The rubber made for shower doors might be an option.

Re: Help Identifying Part Please
Both Bratton's & Snyder's and probably most of the rest of the Model A parts dealers carry the replacement rubber for you original strips. Bratton's has the rubber (part #31410) for $1.50 per door & Snyder's has the rubber for $1.25 per door. I have replaced the rubber in several strips.
I think I may still have a few of the original strips stashed away someplace, I have no need for them now, if I run across them I will list them on the swap meet page. If someone needs some PM me and I will look for them. |
