Default Bumper Bracket Paint Color (1931)

Morning everyone,

Curious if anyone could tell me what color bumper brackets were painted? Gloss/semi-gloss/or flat black?

Thank you!

Travis, these were originally dipped into Alkyd Enamel. This would have left a thin yet high gloss Black finish finish without any 'orange peel', ...and because the bracket was made out of new metal, it would have been free of any pitting. The only thing present in the metal would be die scratches caused as the metal was being formed.

Also, don't confuse the often "puddle pattern" in the metal with rust pitting. As Brent mentioned above, these marks were due to the way the metal braces were formed.
