Default '56 Thunderbird Rear Springs

Does anyone know the length of a 1956 Ford Thunderbird rear spring "free length"? This would be the normal length of a rear spring taken out of the car and measured from the front to rear shackle.

The rear of my car sags and the rear springs need to be arched.

You can call Mac's and ask them. (877) 579-5722

How to measure...

If you have your springs re-done locally the shop may ask if you want a leaf added. It could help keep the rear bumper off the ground, esp. if you have the orig. continental spare tire on the bumper. But then you might need longer U bolts over the axle.

This may be helpful.
The Ford - Lincoln - Mercury 1950-1965 Parts Interchange Manual lists the following. The decimal # is the price at that time.

I don't know where in WA you are, but Benz Spring still has the plant in Portland, OR. I used them many times over the years when they had a Seattle plant. Used them both for my bird and for fleet applications. Might be worth a call.
