'56 Thunderbird Rear Springs
Does anyone know the length of a 1956 Ford Thunderbird rear spring "free length"? This would be the normal length of a rear spring taken out of the car and measured from the front to rear shackle.
The rear of my car sags and the rear springs need to be arched. |

Re: '56 Thunderbird Rear Springs
You can call Mac's and ask them. (877) 579-5722
http://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_th...l-1956-57.html How to measure... http://www.eatondetroitspring.com/ho...-leaf-springs/ If you have your springs re-done locally the shop may ask if you want a leaf added. It could help keep the rear bumper off the ground, esp. if you have the orig. continental spare tire on the bumper. But then you might need longer U bolts over the axle. . This may be helpful.
The Ford - Lincoln - Mercury 1950-1965 Parts Interchange Manual lists the following. The decimal # is the price at that time. |
