Default 47 or 48 Front fender trim

I am in the process of getting a 47 convertible and it is missing both upper front fender chrome trims. I am sure this is the same part used on other Mercury models but not 100% on that. I need to buy them so if anyone has them that would be great. If not then I need the part numbers for each. Thanks

I believe Mercury front fenders are longer than Ford. Check Ebay. Also '47 & '48 may be different

A good friend of mine had those trim moldings, and other numerous 47-48 Merc parts. When he passed, a few years ago, all those parts went to Nick Alexander Restorations. So, if you want a 'lead', try contacting Nick Alexander, at Nick Alexander BMW, in Los Angeles.
Just opinion, and possible lead.

These are the Chrome Strips on the Hoods of the 1946, 1947 and 1948 Fords and 1946 Mercury. In Australia, there is a slight difference at the front end of these Strips, as we didn't get the smooth strips until 1948, whereas, in the USA, this model was released part way through 1947. The Fender Strips of the Ford and similar year Mercury are different.

1946 Mercury and 1946 and 1948 Ford Fender Strips. Notice that the Mercury Fender strip is much wider than the Strips on the 1946 Ford. (Actually, the Strip on the Hood on the 1946 Ford is actually one from a 1947 Ford - notice the end - refer to the previous Post?) Regarding the Strips on the 1948 Ford, they sit below the crease, while the Strips on the earlier 1946 Fords sit above the crease. I hope that this helps you.

I found front fender trim at C&G 800/266-0470. 47-48 is 6A-16003 (RH) and 6A-16003 (LH). $60 each. I suggest you also order clips, as they are usually have rusted threads. I bought mine from this vendor. The trim is a bit thinner than the original, but looks good,

Thanks for the lead! I am not looking for any side moulding. I need the one that goes directly on the top of the fenders. Please see picture.

Me too! I've had a heck of a time finding the fender spears. If anyone has a lead, I'm in line after OP.

Anyone doing old car restoration, or looking for hard to find parts, should call C&G. Ask for one of their catalogs. 800/266-0470. I have no connection with them, other than using them for years. They are the best overall source I have found. They know their stuff, and are honest about backorders. Their 366 page catalog is very complete with illustrations where helpful.
