Default Mystery intake manifold

I saw this flathead intake at a Swapmeet today and was wondering what it is. I have never seen one like it.

Eddie Edmunds. It's missing the water heated upper half.
It's prewar, and looks like the generator mount has been cut down.

Aren't the ports different on the intake though ? Since it is for a single barrel carb, it almost looks like a prototype for the original V8 testing. That would be awfully rare though. Just a guess.

The guy that had it thought it may have been possibly an early prototype or production unit ( which I doubt based on the later generator mount) or may be designed for a pancake style blower like graham or cord used but really didn't know

Almost looks home made. What material was it made of? Appears like it was made for a DL which would make it for a 32 with later generator or 33.

With the use of the '34+ fuel pump given the lack of a separate opening for a oil filler tube.

Good call. Finding the upper water heated part would next to impossible. Sadly, that guy has an interesting wall hanger and not much else.
