These model A cars are small, no surprises there but I think Henry designed them for people with hooves rather than feet. My feet aren't especially big, size 10, and I have more grief trying to get my feet in and out of these things than anything else. I haven't put a tape to it but there must only be 7-8 inches between the front corner of the seat and the door post. Is there some sort of trick to it?.

I agree, and I find it best to lift one foot in, then sit down and lift my left foot over the seat.

Henry designed the Model A for the average population of the day, and people were smaller in the '20's and '30's and it was cheaper to produce a one size fits all car.

In addition, I don't think people complained because Model A's were better than the other options, e.g., using horses or walking.

You should try driving a RHD Model A! With the accelerator between the brake and clutch pedals, dainty feet are a benefit. I've driven a LHD Model A and think they have much more room around the pedal area. That said, cars are much bigger these days and that's what we are used to. Climbing into a Model A feels tight even though it was fine in the day.

I think the hardest ones to get into are the roadster pickups,and the standard phaeton.

I have a 31 coupe and have no trouble getting in or out. I once got into a friends Victoria and that was quite a bit more challenging,

I rode in the back seat of a Victoria, and it was cramped. Glad I own a Tudor.

I should point out that I have a 31 Willys Knight and it is a big car compared to my Model A, but it has no more front seat or entry room than the A. Henry didn't design it either. Jack

I'm 6'2" and don't find it TOO bad once I'm in it, it's just GETTING in and out of it that sucks and it's only getting my feet in and out that is a problem

The front doors and seat on the vicki are quite roomy actually.........
must be referring to the back seat.

Could it be that we are all ageing and a whole lot stiffer than when we were young. I probably could have jumped in my roadsters on a flying run when I was in my 20's, but now it requires things to bend that don't bend anymore. Saying that, I am still able to get in my pickups (1931) and drive off without too much effort.

I've got 2 AA30 and 31's a 29 tudor and a 30 tudor, but the one that 's really hard for me to get in is the 30 roadster pickup I have. I weigh 220 and measure 5' 11'' and 68 years old. I think the later has a lot to do with me climbing in and out.

I think i get a bit more room in the fordor. but i put my lead foot under the clutch pedal while im standing outside the car and then once in draw in the left leg.

I have a 31 pickup,what i do is get my bass in first pull my left foot in than swing my right foot over the steering wheel to the floor.
Works great every time.
