not sure what I saved today, but I saved it think it was/ is a 30 fordor remains. im going to use the cowel for a speedster project if I can find enough window parts. if any body can shed any light on what it is or was, greatly appreciated to help me look for the right stuff im pretty new to the A game, so all info helps

My guess is that it started life as a 1930 4 door phaeton. The open car windshield posts are from a roadster, a roadster pickup or phaeton. The doors you need will be from these three body styles. The shape behind the door looks like a phaeton and the 2 piece splash apron says 1930. They reproduce the rear body panel for the roadster pickup in case you decide to go that way. I am not sure how much work it would be to make it fit a phaeton subframe.

It is kinda neat. It would be a lot of work, but bringing it back to its unrestored, modified configuration would make for a cool Beverly Hillbillies kind of car. It would attract more attention than any other car on a tour or meet.

Definitely a four door standard phaeton 35B. From the 2 screw lower front door hinges it is an early to mid 1930. Nice find, appears to have some original paint and pin striping.

I think the wood bed parts could be saved, they have a GREAT Patina. Wood that is warped, CAN be straightened! P.M. me, for how to do it.

im learning im learning I thought it was a delux with the window posts how they are? yea I was going to use the cowl for a roadster but im not so sure that's a good idea now. there must not have been many phaetons? so will the window gear for a roadster work on this?

oh yea, and Bob there are quiet a few 56 ford and merc trucks in the yard. its kinda what we started collecting 20-30 yearsago. its branched out considerably now

You have a 1930 4-door phaeton. It has been cut off behind the front seat to make a truck. This is a very desirable body style. What you have looks very sound. If you could ever locate the back half of a phaeton body, this would make a very nice car. Of course it would take a lot of skill and work and money to bring it back together.

I'm not sure I understand your question about "window gears" correctly. Roadsters and phaetons do not have roll-up windows. Both body styles use snap on side curtains. Forgive me if I'm misreading your question.

um sorry I mean the front window gear or parts sorry.ill be looking for some stations and a window frame if anyone has any. prefer standard ones that are not chrome or nickel.

That "pile" is very savable. No apparent rustout in the lower sections, and a good cowl. I would encourage you to do a LOT of research on that body style before you do anything else. Become fully informed about wood, sheet metal, doors, lights, etc. You have the beginnings of a fine Model A there.

Also, don't throw anything away! You will not know what you need until you need it and realize you tossed it too soon.

well I never throw anything away, have a few acres of vehicals and "stuff" actually. yes I think it will make a fine speedster cowl. ive been doing lots of research and reading and learning and yes the 35B is a very nice car. but as has been said here, if you could ever find the rear parts. if any of you have any stantions delux or standard and a window frame im looking. doesn't have to be perfect for what im doing

I'd start to throw some stuff away ...

I doubt this will be the last bag of bones you drag home. For a speedster you just need a decent pile of bits to work from. You might find it easier to get the speedster proportions right with a 28-29 cowl as it is a bit smaller.

Open cars were more popular in warmer countries so you may find imported 35B parts while you build a speedster.
Open cars were popular here, however our 1930-1 open cars had a wood frame with just a metal skin (and you don't want that).
