How is heater cover attached?
How is the manifold heater, for the stock manifold attached? Doe you just push it down? Seems like it would rattle. What am I missing?

Re: How is heater cover attached?
There should be 2) holes in the top surface. There should be 2) 1/4"-20 screws, that hold it firmly to the top of the manifold.

No, This is the heater cover that goes on the standard exhaust. Not the speasal heater manifold.

Re: How is heater cover attached?
That one is junk. It goes on with 1/4-20 clamp bolts that hook under the manifold and never work.

Re: How is heater cover attached?
If you are referring to this type.... I chucked the bolt that never worked and just put on two stainless hose clamps. (sorry... iphone photo and forum does not read orientation code... )
Worked all winter. |

Re: How is heater cover attached?
Made a clamp from head bolt to nib on heater with spring between. Works great! Tim

Re: How is heater cover attached?
Here is an even better tin heater cover than the one I posted in #5. This one doesn't cut the firewall, but comes up through the wood floorboard.

Two large hose clamps work perfectly for me.

Re: How is heater cover attached?
I ended up making a clamp with a spring and using the head bolt.

Re: How is heater cover attached?
For someone that claims to be knowledgeable in the trade, that is a pretty ignorant statement. I and many others have them and they work well.
